AMX Logo

Two simple Video Conferencing rooms in Aberdeen provided a nice change of pace from all the marine work we have been undertaking. Integration with Cisco C40 video conferencing units and twin Sharp LCDs. Simplicity of use was key to this job and the room was able to be set up in any configuration with just a few button presses.

85m Motor Yacht 'Fountainhead' in conjunction with A.I. Programming

Crestron Logo

Connect Programming were called in as part of a 3 programmer team to assist in the debugging and commissioning phase of this complex yacht. Working with another programmers code we were able to use our experience to quickly identify potential problems within that existing code and provide solutions to ensure the equipment and interfaces could run effectively.

77m Motor Yacht 'Tango' in conjunction with A.I. Programming

Crestron Logo

Connect Programming were called in as part of a 4 programmer team at an early stage on this Royal Van Lent yacht to assist in ensuring that this yacht was programmed to the highest specification.

Connect Programming's abilities as a module programmer were frequently called upon by the rest of the team to provide reliable control of many devices aboard the yacht, as well as all of the coding for SeaTel, HVAC and Lighting integration.

50m Motor Yacht 'Rahil'

Crestron Logo

This motor yacht was unique in that it was controlled entirely by iPads. The extra screen size available on an iPad meant that Connect Programming were able to create a special tabbed interface allowing near instantaneous access to any source the user required.

63m Sailing Yacht 'Athos'

Crestron Logo

Connect Programming were brought in to add iPad integration into two cabins which had been refurbished with updated equipment. The style of the graphics had to be kept in line with the existing touch panels on the boat, but the higher resolution of the iPad meant that many of the graphics had to be recreated from scratch.

47m Motor Yacht 'Ariadna'

AMX Logo

The first AMX yacht Connect Programming have been involved with. AMX's method of dealing with multi-processor systems made many situations which would usually be very complex to deal with much easier, and allowed Connect Programming to create a framework which meant that zones could be brought online very quickly.

Royal Suite, Savoy Hotel

AMX Logo

The Royal Suite at the Savoy hotel required the utmost care to ensure that the touchpanels fitted in seamlessly with the distinct styling of the Savoy. The 5 main areas of the suite are controlled from R4 remotes giving the user access to the hotel's video-on-demand entertainment systems.

New Hall School in conjunction with AsciiWorks

Crestron Logo

An interesting job situated in the Chapel at a private school. The service can be routed to a selection of 6 screens dotted around the chapel and a projector in an adjactent room. The camera system was configured with a series of presets allowing the operator to quickly change the viewed image to suit the content of the presentation. Any combination of the 16 microphone points in the room can be set up from the Crestron touchpanel. The system was programmed using 6 QM-RMC processors.

Private Residence, Holland Park, London in conjunction with AVSpire

Crestron Logo

A high pressure job in this prestigious residential area of London. Connect Programming and AVSpire had just 5 days to completely program a 5 bedroom luxury house.

21 touchpanels around the property were able to any 1 of 3 iDocks, a 4 output audio-on-demand system. All of which was controlled from 3 processors. An intercom system connected with the 3 entrance doors allows the owner to speak with and open any of the three doors from any touchpanel.

NHS Video Conferencing Unit

AMX Logo

A divisible video conferencing and meeting room unit. Two adjacent meeting rooms, each with video conferencing facilities. The dividing wall can be opened up to provide a large meeting space. Connect Programming provided simple presets to allow the rooms to be quickly set up for any configuration. In addition, Connect Programming programmed the Polycom SoundStructure. When the rooms are acting as separate meeting rooms the audio from the microphones is routed into the video conferencing units. But, when the dividing wall is removed the microphones can be switched into a sound reinforcement mode. Audio was carefully tested and calibrated to provide maximum clarity.

47m Motor Yacht 'AIR'

Crestron Logo

ProntoAnother yacht from the same yard for which Connect Programming programmed '4You'. Similar in specification.

Halliwells, Liverpool in conjunction with AVSpire

Crestron LogoConnect Programming provided programming for a multi-zone meeting room at this law firm in Liverpool. Sources from any of 3 adjoining rooms can be displayed on any display within those rooms.

2009
Hepworth Gallery, Wakefield

AMX LogoThe brand new Hepworth Gallery in Wakefield is notable for its angular, modern architechture. So, Connect Programming brought elements of that design into the touch panel design and matched the corporate identity used on the gallery website.

The programming featured a DMX interface with individual light control and fully customisable presets. The level of each and every individual light was shown on the touchpanel giving lighting designers an overview of the scene they were creating.

The lectern in the room can be moved to one of 4 positions within the space which is taken into account by the AMX to provide appropriate routing and control. Control is via a 7" panel mounted in the lectern as well as a wall mounted 8.4" panel in a wall dock. The panel can only be removed by entering a PIN number ensuring the security of the panel.

45m Motor Yacht '4You'

Crestron Logo

This 45m yacht proved to be an interesting challenge due the use of Philips Pronto touchpanels in a Crestron driven system. This involved programming in two separate coding languages to create a stable link between the two systems which could survive system reboots, touchpanel battery failures, wi-fi drop outs and more.

Private Houses, The Netherlands & Dubai

AMX LogoThe project in The Netherlands, working in conjunction with two other programmers, was the largest residential project Connect Programming Limited had ever worked on. The system was controlled by 7 AMX processors connected to 45 touch panels around the property. Connect Programming provided a system whereby the user could be given a very quick overview of the state of the A/V across the entire site. Modifications were made to the manufacturers ReQuest module to improve the efficiency of the code, which didn't stand up well when trying to run 45 instances of the User Interface code.

Once the project in The Netherlands had been brought to a level where the other programmers could carry on independently, Connect Programming were asked by the end-user to turn their attentions to another property in Dubai which was being refitted. Maintaining the design ethic from the The Netherlands property was vital to ensure that the user didn't have to learn 2 sets of controls.

30m Motor Yacht 'Phoebe'

Crestron LogoPanelThe entertainment systems aboard this private yacht were kept relatively simple. This allowed Connect Programming to create one of their best looking touch panels. Loosely modelled on the now familiar iPhone / iPod touch interface, reflections and graphical effects were added to create a level of sheen not normally seen on standard touch panels.

Private Villa, France

Crestron LogoThis private villa in France consists of 37 seperate zones. Controlled via an AV2, 5x TPS-6Ls, 1x TPS-6X, and 9x MLX-2 Crestron Interfaces. Each member of the househould has their own satellite box and iPod dock which can be selected from any location in the house. Users can also 'send' whatever they are watching or listening to from any room to any other room. Lutron integration provided the biggest challenge on this property. Every room has several lutron keypads, and using these keypads, the users are able to select sources, adjust volume, change channels, and fast forward or rewind a DVD or BluRay disc. The pool cover can be closed or opened from the Crestron system. Intercom functionality between the two gates and the 6L panels is available.

Scotch Whiskey Experience, Scotland

AMX LogoConnect Programming were asked to provide control programming for a new section of the 'Scotch Whiskey Experience' in Edinburgh, Scotland. Two theatre rooms were programmed to be controlled via simple 4 button RF remotes. The film, played from an Adtec Edje player controlled over IP, automatically pauses at given points and a light show was triggered when playback reached a certain time code reference. From there, visitors would be shown into the 'Diagio' whiskey collection room - the largest collection of whiskey in the world. Push button control was routed through the AMX processor and converted into DALI lighting commands to highlight different areas of the collection. The whole system was set up and closed down each day from a single press on an AMX Mio Keypad.

Base/Link Manufacturer Module

Crestron LogoBLinkConnect Programming created the manufacturer Crestron control module for DFSolutions' Base/Link Media Server solution. The GUI interface was carefully matched to that of the built in interface to maintain the design ethic of the B/Link. Touchpanel designs were provided for the TPMC-8X, TPS-6L, and TPS-2000. Users are able to browse and playback music, edit the playing queue, set up and edit playlists, as well as control the B/Link via the built in on-screen interface.

2008
Corporate, London

AMX LogoThis job in central London was to provide programming for the main hall of a prestigious financial institution. Control of the Projector, Screen, Lights, Chandeliers was automated as fully as possible. Using AMXs built in VNC (Computer Control), the engineer panel was set up to control the presenter PC from the gallery so that Powerpoint presentations could be seamlessly changed without the enginneer having to disturb the flow of a meeting. Meetings are able to be recorded via an integrated Marantz Solid State recorder.

Residential, London in conjunction with Lucid Programming Limited

Crestron LogoThanks to Lucid Programming, Connect Programming were able to provide the programming which runs the media rooms in a London property.

A ReQuest audio server provides music throughout the house, and the main media room is powered by high spec Naim equipment, all controlled via RS232. An AV2 and 2 roaming TPMC-8X panels provide the control for the entire property. Ease of use was essential for the end client so the touch panel design was kept free of any unnecessary controls. Sky is controlled using a Dusky Control box.

Residential, UK

AMX LogoVirtualKeypadThis residential project contains 18 audio-only zones in addition to 10 video and audio zones throughout the property. The house is controlled via an NI-3100 controller in conjunction with 5 GlobalCaché Ethernet controllers. There are 12 control interfaces throughout the property.

The system is user based, in that the touch panels utilise a log on system which means that the users equipment 'follows' them around the house. They log on to a touch panel, select Sky and their box will automatically be routed to the right place. Each user has unique access to Sky, and a movie and music library stored on the iDyl media server. Users can also 'Send' what they are watching or listening to to another room at the touch of a button. A powerful AV Routing page allows the user to very quickly set the entire house to certain sources as a 'party' mode.

Clipsal lighting is controlled from the touch panels and the current lighting level is displayed on bar graphs. The external lights can be set to come on at sunset.

The home owner can remotely access features of the property using SMS Text Messaging, VNC and iPhone (Utilising AMX's Virtual Keypad). The custom programmed Sky Module retrieves current channel logos from the internet in real time. The 11 CCTV cameras can be viewed from any touch panel. The fireplace in the lounge can be lit and extinguished from the touch panels. The touch panels also behave as an internal intercom. The external gates and garages can be open and closed from the touch panels, and an automatic time out closes any doors which have been left open for too long.

Education, UK in conjunction with Lucid Programming Limited

Crestron LogoThis project for Lucid Programming Limited is a clean and simple program to run a lecture hall in a new school in the midlands. This program is designed to be simple to maintain and rock solid under regular usage conditions. The touch panel design maintains the school colours and is very simple to use.

Luxury Hotel, Ireland

This luxury hotel has three individual meeting / conference rooms. Two of the rooms had the ability to be joined together to create a larger conference room. The program senses the presence of a room partition and adjusts the touchpanel controls accordingly. The programming also featured Dynalite integration using RS485.

Residential, UK

This residential job consists of 16 Zones of Video and Audio spread throughout a beautiful 4 bedroom house. The system is controlled by 3x MVP5200i touch panels, 1x NXD-1000Vi touch panel, 1x NXT-CV7, and 8x Mio Modero R4 remote controls. Every zone in the house has access to the music and movie library stored on an AMX MAX server, and three movies can be simultaneously played throughout the house. Four freeview boxes provide TV for the house and users are warned if a particular box is in use somewhere else in the house to prevent people from taking over. At the request of the owner, full lighting control of every circuit in the house was made available from certain touchpanels. The status of the house, including the on / off status of every display in the house, what source they are watching, and the lighting levels throughout the house can be stored to a preset which can be named by the user. These presets can then be recalled at the push of a button, or via an SMS interface by texting the name of the preset to a special number. CCTV access is possible from anywhere in the house. The outside gate buttons were integrated in so that the touchpanels 'ring' if somebody is at the gate. The gate can then be viewed on CCTV and the gate opened if desired.

The AMX MAX module was heavily cusomised for this project to allow smooth use of the MAX server from the Mio Modero R4s. A Sky TV module was custrom written to allow programme information to be displayed on the panels and for preset channels to be stored.

75m Motor Yacht 'Anastasia'

Thanks to ESP International, Connect Programming Limited was afforded the opportunity to work on this fabulous 75.5m superyacht. The collaboration was a massively succesful one which has led to several other projects being worked on as a team.

The project was carefully planned over several days at ESP's offices in London. This early discussion enabled ESP and Connect to develop a dynamic system where every single touchpanel on the boat could be uploaded with exactly the same touchpanel file but have different functions depending on where it had been placed. This reduced development time and meant that touchpanels we effectively hot swappable. If there is a problem with a touchpanel on board a new one with the touchpanel design pre-loaded can be put in it's place and the panel will automatically configure itself to its location.

Residential, Norway

Crestron LogoConnect Programming Limited provided the programming solution to a four bedroom home in Oslo. An Adagio server and Crestron iDock providing house wide music via Crestron AAE and PAD8. Much of the control in this house is via simple 8 button CNX-B8 keypads which also act as temperature sensors for the underfloor heating system.
